FREE YourSELF: 'Accessing Your Creativity"

Yes, you ARE creative. Don’t argue. You create everyday. Routines, meals, outfits, relationships, solutions to problems and so much more. It’s all a matter of perspective, both literally and figuratively. 

Consider for a moment how you chose the vehicle you drive, your phone case, what colours do you typically opt for? What are you wearing today? How did you come to the decision? What would you ‘never wear’? Are there patterns or colours you don’t wear, or don’t like? Ever wonder why? Do you sit and doodle or wonder about random things? No. You’re not weird. You’re full of wonder! All of these things are signs of your inner creativity. While we are in regular school, we are often compared to others and following this, the more we are taught to “fit in”, “be like them” and “not stand out”. More specifically, “conform to the norm”. This trajectory is part of the cause that renders people into believing they are not creative. As  you may have guessed, you may now see you’ve been taught that’s better to fit in and not stand out right? 

In today’s class, you will learn how to be curious, stand out and NOT conform, and only then you will connect to and reveal or rediscover your inner artist. For fun, we will watch a video of some famous artwork by well-known artists, who also chose NOT to conform to give you a little bit of a connection to what happened when they did;) 

Then, you will get to re-create any imagery, colours, patterns, themes and styles based on what you saw. (Yes, I will bring colourplates for  you to refer to) All suppplies are provided, but if you want to bring anything from home, I’m happy to show you what they are, how to best use them and care for them. Art supplies will become your new friends! 

This course is fun and free for all those who attend, all supplies are provided and are meant to assist those in either rediscovering their inner artist, naturally occurring creativity or to just increase the level of fun and whimsy that can be a part of your every living moment. You will get to draw, paint and build things in each class, so come prepared to embrace PLAY through art and art education.
