Be filled with intrigue and be amazed at the incredible creative skills required to make this upcycled sculpture. Clearing off beaches, clearing out oceans, collecting and organizing and then creating something unique...
BUT AT THE SAME TIME...
Be aware that this was created using humanity's wasteful attitude toward things we use and discard so irresponsibly.
The Art Camps I teach always include an aspect of repurposing things and mixing materials from all around me. The phrase 'toss or throw it away' is STILL a major problem in all of our industries. Art has been and can still be the catalyst for change. Changing our perspectives away from the lure of 'new is better' is but one step we can all work on. Children today will be left with past generational waste and destruction like every generation before. But even they are creating more and more waste with cheap toys an…
INSPIRE YOUR KIDS!

If you're a GenX, GenZ or even a Boomer with grandkids-- you know that our futures are now in the next generations' hands right?
Well, why not equip these kids and youth with useable tools to show them how to use what is all around them to make a difference in the world? Or at least inspire them to put their critical thinking skills on high alert to STOP thinking that new is always better. In this camp, youth ages 10 - 13 will be provided with a plethora of art materials as well as commonplace items typically thrown away or recycled. Take a look at the list of proposed projects in the image.
Your kids will come home and start raiding your recycling bins to repurpose things into art-- but not JUST ART. Useable art that functions as way to keep landfills from filling up and oceans from becoming…
Welcome to the ISAFA Fan Club Group!
ISAFA stands for the Inspiration Studio Academy of Fine Art and I opened it as a teaching studio all the way back in 2007! I've been teaching art since I was only 26 and found that everyone needs a creative outlet. Teaching community art lessons to groups of 12 kids four to twice a week for 7 years showed me just how much kids loved my teaching style. So I opened up my home studio for those seeking more one on one guidance. 2013 - 2020 saw the beginnings of my Artist Leagues and Art Clubs. Coming back in the early fall, will be some fun local to Okotoks 'Meet Me in the Park" opportunities to try out something easy, inspiring and creative! It might be something you've already done, or something entirely new. Watercolour, felting, jewelry, drawing illusions, painting, blind contour... you name it -- it's coming to you in just a few more weeks.
But if you're not a local peep, you can use this group to connect with other members, get updates from upcoming events I host and share videos of how you use the arts everyday, or something your child has created for you. Let's see where we can take this! It could be a companion to your morning coffee!
