Washed Ashore Exhibit

Be filled with intrigue and be amazed at the incredible creative skills required to make this upcycled sculpture. Clearing off beaches, clearing out oceans, collecting and organizing and then creating something unique...
BUT AT THE SAME TIME...
Be aware that this was created using humanity's wasteful attitude toward things we use and discard so irresponsibly.
The Art Camps I teach always include an aspect of repurposing things and mixing materials from all around me. The phrase 'toss or throw it away' is STILL a major problem in all of our industries. Art has been and can still be the catalyst for change. Changing our perspectives away from the lure of 'new is better' is but one step we can all work on. Children today will be left with past generational waste and destruction like every generation before. But even they are creating more and more waste with cheap toys and fast fashion. More and more waste of electricity, burning of fossil fuels to make and upgrade their technological devices is moving at record speeds. Everyone is at fault. At the root, in my perspective is money. So where does it stop? And how? Creative expression is a good start since it requires no oral or written explanation and so it busts past language barriers. What kinds if things do you reuse or repurpose ?
